Text Box: Mountain Mentors

Text Box: Dedicated to:
à Helping young people turn their lives around
à Offering a prevention and rehabilitation program to troubled youth
à Providing adult role models who help teens set good personal goals and make good choices
à Providing an effective alternative for at-risk juveniles

Conceived more than 20 years ago by Rev. Everett Mills, this powerful approach to helping juveniles offers a physical challenge similar to Outward Bound, a helping hand like that of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters and a commitment of volunteers comparable to that of the Peace Corps.

Mountain Mentors was formed as a mission program that offers adult role models who will also serve as advocates for teens in the areas of education, work, family and court. Coupled with a wilderness experience, this year long mentoring program helps young people see themselves and society in a more positive light, shows them a bigger and better world, and offers unwavering love.
